[It's taken Isaac several days to get to the point where the curiosity is killing him, but theorizing about all of this is just making it worse. Time to just ask about all of this.

He doesn't bother knocking, he just lets himself in at some ungodly hour early on Wednesday. You up, Adjudicator?]

[Of course he's up, Isaac.

The room itself is more of an office, all done up in wood and leather and generally well-kept, with shelves lining the walls and a large desk at the center; the Adjudicator himself is sitting at the desk and...managing to look completely out of place in here, given everything.

The jeans are making a reappearance today, clothes-wise, but he's replaced the black button-up with a red one; he's also got one of those little hang-glider models that you can get out of the machine, though he doesn't seem to be doing much with it - he's leaning forward with his head down on the desk, tapping idly on the wings of the thing just to give himself something to do. He'll glance up when he comes in, at least, though not for very long.]

Did you need something?

[glaciates]

[...Huh. Either he's just a bored kid who stays up late or he doesn't need to sleep or something, who knows with these people. Isaac hesitates for a moment before taking a few more steps forward. It's probably unsurprising exactly how awkward he is.]

I've got a few questions for you. Things that are specific to me. I'll try to get through this quick so you can go back to... whatever you were doing.

[Playing with a hang-glider...?]

My alchemy doesn't work here, which I'm sure you were aware of. What I want to know is why it doesn't work and why I have this.

[He holds his left hand up so the Adjudicator can get a look at the tattoo on his palm.]

I didn't have it before arriving here.

[He'll take a look at it, sure, but he doesn't seem too concerned.]

I didn't do anything to you, if that's the accusation.

[That's not very helpful, but alright.]

So you're not the reason for this. Can you tell me when you took me?

My profile lists me as thirty-nine. My hair's also a lot longer than it should be. I've heard about stasis, some kind of coma thing. Was that done to me?

No, it wasn't. I've actually done really little to you guys, if anything.

[glaciates]

Alright. So, why isn't my alchemy working?

[andexecutioner]

That's a good question.

[He shifts his hand a bit. Goes back to playing with the hang-glider a little. Tap. Tap. Tap.]

[glaciates]

...So do you not know or is that something you're not going to tell me?

[ohhhhhh my god you little brat]

I can think of a lot of reasons why, but they're not too important right now.

And besides, that's not going to change the situation any. Knowing why won't make it magically work. You're not going to fix it, and it's not like I'm going to do anything about it.

[glaciates]

[...yeah, that's about what he thought.]
