[ Some time after Yuri's lured Juri out of the office, Katniss sneaks into the room. She's not sure where to start, but she'll go ahead and poke around the desk--on top, underneath, and if there are drawers, she'll try to get those open. ]

[Well, what she'll find on top of it is a partially-started game of European solitaire and not much else outside of standard office-desk fare - a lamp to keep the relatively low lighting in here from killing his eyes, a couple of pens and stray sheets of paper, a deck of cards from the game room sitting in its box.

The drawers come open pretty easily, though, it seems they don't lock; what are you looking for in there, exactly?]

[ Juri, you have weird hobbies?? What is this game.

Anything, really, that'll stand out. Books, for example, in languages she might not be able to read but might look important. Any information he has on the competitors, possibly, or other murdergames? ]

[It seems he's got a bunch of drawings in the top drawer, along with general writing utensils and what looks like they might be notes beneath them.

What are you looking at first, Katniss?]

[ How about the drawings first? ]

[They're simple and they're sketchy, and they seem to focus more on details of people that stand out - not in the same way caricatures are done, where everything is exaggerated, but more reminiscent of someone who's faceblind trying to map out important features on people. There's a lot of emphasis on eyes and hair and makeup if they wear any, and other features that are otherwise prominent.

...They're also all drawings of people who have died here, so there's also that.]

[ ... Huh. Okay, we're filing that away because that might be important. Katniss takes a while to stare at them before setting them to the side.

Now onto the notes. Please don't let them be in German this time. ]

[...okay but how much would all of you hate me if I gave you more of those symbols -

No, really, though, they're entirely readable and at first glance don't seem to be too interesting? Just your titles listed down in particular ways. A few lists have more of you grouped together than others; they're all generally rearranged around, you've got some dead people in there, some don't have the dead people, things like that. Basically, it looks like he's keeping track of you guys for something, it's just hard to tell what.]

[ Oh thank god she can read it.

Is there any particular pattern to them? ]

[andexecutioner]

[Just a bunch of random groupings, from the look of it; if there's any method to it, it doesn't seem to be immediately obvious.

A few of them do have the people that died set apart from the others, though, with the exception of Nephenee, who's elsewhere.]

[ Huh. Is there anything else to note here, or can we move on elsewhere? Say, along the walls, looking for a chink in the armor, so to speak? Weak spots, anything that might be vulnerable, mysterious buttons that open mysterious secret doors... ]

[Well, we've got a lot of shelves in here? Not so much massive expanses of blank walls, though.]

[ We'll look along the shelves, then. Anything interesting here--notebooks or odd trinkets, or whatever? ]

[There are a lot of books in here, for one thing, though they don't seem to have any names on their spines, either title or author; there are also a few game boards that he's brought in here from the game room, things like chess and what have you, as well as a couple more decks of cards.

There are also four little stuffed cats in here, the sort Ferid makes sometimes - white and orange and calico and grey with little stripes; he's got a couple of those weird glider models from the machine in there as well, and...something that appears to be Walter White's fucking hat because of course it is.]

[ God, she's so tempted to burn that goddamn hat. The cats are cute.

So other than the desks and the books, is there anything else in the office to look at? ]

[There isn't, no!

...Juri is. not. exactly the most thrilling individual.]
