[And that's quiet, too, though he doesn't look up from what he's doing. Flip. Flip. Flip.]

I didn't hear anything like that from them, though.

[Huh. Well that is...reassuring. And not.]

Okay. Just wanted to make sure, you know. I know...Sayaka had some stuff going on back home and, like... I don't wanna assume anything, how to deal with it. [He should stop talking on this subject, but-] I told her we'd like, help explain when we got out? So people don't think she just disappeared or ran away and, I'd still like to do that, if I can.

[If I can get there or if I get out. Which does he mean? After a moment, Brady waves a hand, dismissing it all.]

Ahhh, but if you don't know, you don't know, so. That's alright, maybe one of the others heard something.

Yeah.

I knew the basics about them, like I know the basics about all the rest of you guys. But I never talked to her about anything. She didn't like me much.

Yeah, I get that. I mean, you know. [vague weighing hand gestures] I'm sure you know, you're probably not high on people's lists here?

...Unless they're, uh. Ferid or Aligula. [why is hot or not]

I know. I'm not really here to make friends, though, so that's pretty okay with me.

Uh-huh, you're...an overseer. So, you're here to...watch over us as this whole thing goes on, and... What? D'you have something you really want from this...game?

[andexecutioner]

[He's quiet for a moment at that. Thinking again.]

I've got some things that I'm looking for. Nothing that I want, exactly, but maybe you guys will surprise me.

That so? [...] You said...back the first day, there were other ways to play besides breaking Rule 1, if we did that, if we didn't have another trial, would that be a surprising thing?

[His leg's still bouncing. It's a weird situation, so he glances at the cards. How's Juri doing at Solitaire?]

[He's actually good at it (as much as one can be at Solitaire, anyway), so he's doing pretty well!]

It would be, yeah. Most people go for it eventually.

[meanttobe]

[Well good for Juri then! ...now his attention goes to the shelves just to skim them.]

Most people kill? Or...go for breaking that rule? That sounds like you've done this before.

[andexecutioner]

Never quite like this, but I've done some things that are close.

[Another flip of those cards while he speaks.]

Whether they'll kill or not is one thing. But people will almost always do what they think is going to benefit them in some way or another. And for a lot of them, that involves throwing each other under a bus or five.

It's just how people work.

[Glances back at the cards.]

...We could still find another way to play this. Get out as many as we can.

Somehow, I think...when Aligula said you're fun to talk to, she had a different kind of conversation topic in mind.

[The laugh that gets out of him is quiet, brief.]

She's... Yeah.

For what it's worth, I don't know what to do with her, either.

And that, almost, is reassuring. [Almost.]

Well. This has been, you know, something. A pretty different experience? But I should...go sleep.

It's not like I'm going anywhere, if you want to do it again sometime.

[He stands, and starts for the door, but-] One more question? What's your cat's name?

[andexecutioner]

[He just kind of shrugs at that.]

We called her a lot of things; she's not strictly my cat. And it's not like I could keep her around here anyway.

So that depends on who's got her now, I guess, whether she's Kissa or Mimi or Kate or whatever.

Oh. Well. ...Alright then. Uh, thanks for answering.

[That's all he wants for now. And it's kind of awkward to say goodbye or goodnight in this kind of scenario, so he just raises an awkward wave and leaves.]
